Plastic manholes for water meters

Čabar Plast manufactures special plastic manholes for water meters. These water meter manholes are prefabricated, lightweight, and simply need to be placed into the ground, into a pre-dug pit for manholes. The manhole is ready for use immediately after being connected to the network. All that is needed afterward is to backfill the area around the manhole with soil. Water can be introduced in one day, or everything can be completed in a few hours.

Unlike concrete manholes, which require formwork, concrete mixing, and additional materials such as boards, iron, covers, etc.

Čabar plastic manholes for water meters even come with insulation to prevent freezing, which can sometimes happen with concrete ones, as they often deteriorate and freeze over time.

The water meter manholes we make are affordable, lightweight, and durable, making them an ideal solution. They share the same properties as plastic barrels because they are made from the same material.

Čabar Plast Plastic Manholes for Water Meters are:

  • Resistant to breakage and wear,
  • Eco-friendly (do not pollute the environment) and made of HDPE,
  • Able to withstand both high and low temperatures ranging from -30°C to +60°C,
  • Resistant to the effects of a wide range of liquids and gases,
  • Resistant to UV rays,
  • Easily portable, easy to install, and have minimal maintenance costs,
  • Guaranteed to be waterproof and a long-term solution, as the material only loses 5% of its properties after 50 years of use.

These types of water meter manholes can have fittings and fixtures installed, all according to the needs and requirements of the customers.

If you need any such fittings, please specify when ordering Čabar Plast plastic manholes.

Process of Installing Water Meters in Manholes:

The process of installing water meters in plastic manholes varies depending on the size of the manhole.

For smaller plastic manholes (diameter Ø 500mm and Ø 600mm)

The water meter is usually installed in a horizontal position due to limited space inside the manhole.

Valves, for the same reason, are installed in a vertical position.

Since the water meter is placed closer to the top of the manhole, insulating material such as Styrofoam is placed on the manhole cover and the sides to prevent the water meter from freezing in cold conditions.

For larger plastic manholes (diameter Ø 800mm, Ø 1000mm, and larger)

The water meter and valves can be installed in a horizontal position, which facilitates installation and reading.

Due to the greater depth and width of the manhole, the manhole provides better natural insulation, so it is often less necessary to add insulating material. However, in areas with very low temperatures, adding insulation to the cover may be advisable to ensure additional protection against freezing.
Larger manholes also allow easier access for maintenance and any repairs.

In both cases, it is important to ensure that all connections and valves are properly installed and secure to avoid any leaks or other problems. Also, care should be taken to ensure the correct position of the inlet and outlet connections, which are standardly placed at a certain height from the bottom of the manhole to ensure efficient water flow.
