PLASTIC PONTOONS FOR MARINAS AND RAFTS

The plastic pontoons for marinas and rafts that we produce from HDPE are stable and safe water structures. A pontoon for a raft represents a floating structure that is commonly used as a base for building rafts or floating platforms.

These pontoons are essentially large, enclosed, usually cylindrical structures that enable sailing or floating on water.

In modern solutions, pontoons are often made from durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is characterized by high durability and longevity, resistance to corrosion, and ease of maintenance. They are used for various purposes, including the construction of docks, bridges, floating pools, as well as for recreational rafts on rivers, lakes, and seas.

Pontoons for rafts can be modular, meaning they can be connected into larger units to build bigger floating structures. Such modularity allows for easy adjustment of the size and shape of the raft to meet the specific needs of the user.

The basic characteristics of our pontoons are:

  • Easy to transport,
  • Easy to set up and install,
  • Capable of carrying a wide range of loads,
  • Maximum navigational safety,
  • Resistant to impacts and wear,
  • Lifespan of over 50 years,
  • Minimal maintenance costs,
  • Environmentally friendly product.

Čabar Plast pontoons can be used without concern for environmental impact as they meet all ecological conditions. They are durable, indestructible, and unsinkable because they are divided into chambers that can be filled with styrofoam if needed. Their application is versatile and they are used for various purposes

FLOATING PLASTIC PONTOONS ARE USED FOR:

  • Mooring vessels,
  • Movement of people,
  • As rafts for transporting passengers and goods on smaller water surfaces,
  • Water platforms for swimming and sunbathing,
  • Foundations for water house rafts,
  • Temporary bridges for crossing rivers,
  • In fish farms as pontoons and cages for fish cultivation,
  • As Catamarans,
  • As Trimarans,
  • As barriers for collecting and directing floating and underwater waste.

Plastic pontoons are intended for mooring vessels in marinas, docks, ports, on rivers, and lakes. They can also be used in seas as saltwater cannot damage them.

They facilitate easier access for swimmers in the sea, serving as platforms and isolated structures on the surfaces of seas or lakes. Various materials can be placed on the upper side depending on your needs and the purpose for which the pontoons are used. They can be interconnected to form units for rafts that can serve as terraces for restaurants on the water, cafes, bars, nightclubs, etc.

Pontoons are used in fish farms and on both still and flowing waters, where plastic pontoons will support and keep metal cages on the surface for fish cultivation.

Čabar Plast is a recognized manufacturer of plastic pontoons by the Serbian Register of Shipping and the Directorate for Maritime Safety.

Plastic pontoons, regardless of their intended use, are ideal as durable, high-quality, unsinkable, and more affordable than all other types of similar purpose.

Čabar Plast pontoons made from HDPE are manufactured in standard diameters:
Ø 500 mm | Ø 600 mm | Ø 800 mm | Ø 1000 mm | Ø 1200 mm | Ø 1300 mm | Ø 1600 mm

How to Calculate the Load Capacity of Pontoons, Catamarans, Rafts, or Any Floating Object Based on a Pontoon?

Čabar Plast pontoons with an internal diameter of 60 cm have a load capacity of 140 kg per linear meter, meaning a 6-meter-long pontoon can carry 6×140=840 kg.

Čabar Plast pontoons with an internal diameter of 80 cm have a load capacity of 230 kg per linear meter, meaning a 6-meter-long pontoon can carry 6×230=1380 kg.

Čabar Plast pontoons are designed so that at the maximum load of the raft, catamaran, or any other floating object, the pontoon is submerged in water up to half its height. Therefore, it is necessary to know the total weight of the raft, catamaran, or other floating object when it is fully loaded. This includes the sum of the weights of the steel structure, wooden construction, cabin, other cargo, and the maximum number of people that will be on the raft at one time.

Čabar Plast pontoons are easy to transport, easy to set up and install, and capable of carrying heavy loads.

Čabar Plast pontoons are made from HDPE, specifically high-quality polypropylene and polyethylene, which allows for the production of pontoons in colors other than black, although customers most commonly order pontoons in black and white.

Each pontoon is made according to customer requirements. When manufacturing pontoons, we can also immediately create a base for a raft, catamaran, marina, or dock, fish farm, all in agreement with the customer. Pontoon sales are upon your request, so it is advisable to call in advance and arrange the production of pontoons according to your dimensions.
